This is a charity event. All profits go to Give Directly as emergency cash to the survivors of international crises and climate disasters. We’re hoping for the significant majority of the ticket price to go to Give Directly.

things we need

Shuffling: If you know how to broadcast shuffle, yay! We’ll be looking for these people on the day. We want to know who can show their table how to shuffle each draft.

Prizes: If you are an artist in the Magic community and you’d like to work on something for us, reach out! We’re not planning on buying any product as prizes for this event. If you’d like to donate any prizes we’d love that! You can contact me at @xhirp on Discord (or email me@xhirp.com).

where is cube?

cube will be hosted at Dark Sphere Shepherd’s Bush, W12 8PP. To find us from the tube station, enter the W12 shopping centre and walk until you see Dark Sphere on your left. Thanks to the Dark Sphere team for all their support!

what is the plan for the day?

how are draft pods put together?

We will be running the event through Hedron Network, a purpose-built site for cube events.

You will be able to tell Hedron Network which cubes you like, which you don’t, it will decide the pods. More on Hedron Network to come!

The top 2 players from each pod in draft 1 will be in our Finals Draft, which will feature an amazing cube to be announced. Maybe we’ll see you there!

what will the event be like?

Hopefully: fun! We are primarily trying to bring cube players together and celebrate irregular cubes. We will be running at a very casual REL, so your super-competitive side might want a day off for this one.

We love Magic and know you do too! Getting really invested in games of Magic is so much fun, but most importantly we want everyone to think cube events are for them, and leave excited for future organised cube play (and hopefully only a little exhausted).

Creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere is hugely important to cube – please drop us a message before, during, or after the event if you have any questions or concerns.

will there be coverage?

Yes! We are hoping to record two tables for both drafts, with the ambition of making some awesome content around the cubes and gameplay. If you have experience with or knowledge of low-key setups for filming drafts and gameplay, we’d love to chat! Contact details can be found all over this page.

If we weren’t putting together cube, we probably would have spent that time playing Magic.

We enjoy chatting about pretty much any 40 or 60 card format, but if you’re not careful, we’ll tell you more than ever wanted to know about extremely niche nonbasic lands or ever more niche Pauper decks.
